About Me

Hi!

My name is Kory, I am a mixed-media photographer based in Pasadena California.

I’ve always had a keen interest in photography and fell in love with photography hard during the early pandemic after learning how to shoot on my dad’s Canon Rebel XT from 2005. Since then, photography has been my entire world. In my work, I follow a mindset of “experimentation, exploration, documentation” in order to push my images to their fullest potential.

PORTFOLIO

EXPERIMENTAL

“New Light”

Using a custom lens set-up, I shot these photos in my own kitchen upon trying to get a closer look at some interesting interactions between the water and greasy residue while washing a frying pan. The use of a flashlight to brighten the shots left them looking almost otherworldly.

“Acid Sketch”

Pixel sorting, data melting, and some penwork transformed these photos of my home into an intoxicatingly vibrant medley of landscapes.

“Generation Loss”

With countless rounds of tweaking the settings of this image, every iteration lost some of this photo’s information. What was once a photo pulled from a NASA public database is now an unrecognizable landscape, full of energy.

“Ants”

With my custom macro lens, I get to see the tiniest things up close an personal. This has allowed me to capture photos of ants in some odd places and situations within my home.

“Spiders”

A little more creepy-crawly than the ants, I have found the courage to get increasingly closer and closer shots of the spiders in and around my home. This set features a video documentation of the coexistence between my family and the spiders in our home.

Analog

“Greener Again”

All those who live in around the Denas know the heartache of Eaton Fire’s damages. I’ve found myself continuously looking towards and photographing the mountains that burned, and, in my photos, I have gotten to see the progression of the green slowly beginning to return in the months since January, as featured in these 35mm film photos.
